Melaka's Log: Summary | Day1 | Day2 | Day3

(Day 1) Friday, 28 November

With our heavy package on our shoulder, and the exhaustion after work STILL we were filled with ecstatic and excitement. The smiles from our faces could not be wipe away even as the sky was turning darker the nearer we were getting there.

It was a smooth journey all along without much traffic on the north south highway and we were so lucky to clear the custom without much of a hassle too even at the golden time ~ 1800hrs.

2hrs later, all our bumps were numb we finally arrived at our first destination, Aaron’s (our tour guide for the trip) hometown and were greeted warmly by his parents.

Hotel Equatorial

Without much delay, we headed to our “Nest” that we would be staying for 2 nights. It is none other then the 5 stars Hotel ~ Hotel Equatorial. “Phow”, I must say the hotel was indeed amazing with our rooms facing the pool for only RM159 nett per night. What else can we say even say about this?

It was about 2100hrs that we finally settled down and suddenly a “ growling” sound was coming out of somewhere. It was then that we felt hungry and realized we had not taken our dinner. Where are you bringing us Aaron..??? I’m Hungry……

Satay Celup - Ban Lee Siang

Our first meal in Melaka was at BAN LEE SIANG for Satay Celup. Aaron always says Singaporean will “LAO SAI” after eating. NO FEAR, we were all in for it.

“Slurp” The first taste of it filled our mouth with such great aroma and till now the smell of it remains in us after each belch. We had more than 100 sticks in total at a total bill of RM70 plus.

Pure Bar

PURE BAR was next on our itinerary. We headed straight down filled with satisfaction after the meal and was hoping for more. Indeed it was not a disappointment. The live band there was Fantastic according to Jeff BUT I thought it was just so-so, a mixture of slow rock and retro accompanied us through the night.

Once we found a place to park, we got even more excited, suddenly our heart started pounding faster with the welcoming sound of the band singing our all time favourite song, I Am Yours by Jason Mraz!! It was as though they know our arrival to PURE BAR!!

There were times when the crowd started to get super HIGH and they sang along to the song from Indonesia, “Tiada Lagi by Mayangsari”, a trademark song of PURE BAR. Each time the band sings this song; the crowd (besides those like us who are not local) cannot resist but sing along though it may sound like screaming to us. The feel was so great that most of us will just go with the flow and hum along with the music.

Not forgetting the buckets of beer that see us through the night BUT the real kick came only after the Flaming Lamborghini that shot us through the sky. This was like heaven followed by hell…*faint*.

Assam Pedas

Our night ended with a meal comprise of Assam Pedas and HOT Malay tea to “Refresh” us… Aaron our tour guide has no choice but to chauffeur us back to the hotel.
